DAY 1

Plan for a morning arrival into Kelowna International Airport and make your first stop at Grizzli Winery and Summerhill Pyramid Organic Winery for a tour and tasting. Next, travel to the famous Myra Canyon Trestles on the historic Kettle Valley Rail Trail. An easy ride to view the trestles, fall colours and a good chance to see deer and bears. Next stop is at Davison Orchards and Country Village for a tour of the orchard and gardens including a stop to pick fresh apples from the tree. The tour finishes in the country village where lunch is served and local produce, fruit and other regional food products can be purchased. Next stop is at Planet Bee Honey Farm and Honeymoon Meadery for a tour and a chance to purchase some honey products. There are many places for dinner in Vernon ranging from a brew pub to fine dining, Alternative option would be to continue on to Salmon Arm for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2

Travel from the North Okanagan into the Shuswap region and into the beginnings of one of the world’s largest inland temperate rainforests. This is another region to try a local wine while looking out over the vineyards and all their magnificent fall colours. Next stop will be the Roderick Haig Brown Provincial Park and if you are travelling in October, there is a good chance you will see the spawning Sockeye Salmon run. The trails throughout the park are easy and flat and take you to the best viewpoints along the river for salmon viewing. Make sure to visit the interpretive centre before heading out to learn the story of this amazing natural wonder. Just a short distance away, plan your lunch stop at the Quaaout Lodge and Talking Rock Resort and pre-book a First Nations’ experience. Visit the Kekuli for a story telling or head out on a short Voyageur canoe trip. In the afternoon, travel to Kamloops for a visit to Monte Creek Ranch Winery and a visit to the BC Wildlife Park, home to many of the local indigenous wildlife in the province including Clover, the Kermode Bear. There are many dinner options available in Kamloops ranging from a brew pub to fine dining.

DAY 3

After breakfast in Kamloops, travel to the municipality and all seasons resort of Sun Peaks. Fall colours abound and activities include a Voyageur canoe trip ideal for wildlife viewing and some light exercise as you learn the story of the early explorers and fur trade. Segway tours provide an excellent opportunity to explore the village and surrounding area. There are many choices for lunch and dinner in the village.

DAY 4

Depart early for your trip along theĀ  North Thompson River towards Clearwater and Wells Gray Provincial Park. First stop should be the Clearwater Visitor Centre for a refreshment break and to learn more about the park. Must see stops in the ‘Waterfall Park’ are Spahats Falls, Dawson Falls and Helmcken Falls. Choose to have lunch at the Helmcken Falls Lodge or return to Clearwater for a variety of choices including a lakeside restaurant at Dutch Lake. After returning to Kamloops, plan a downtown walking tour, a visit to the Secwepemc Heritage Park and Museum or a walk along the Rivers Trail before your flight home.
