At the Convergence of Three Mountain Ranges

Far-reaching mountain ranges, mighty rivers, and glacier-fed wilderness lakes surround the village of Valemount (pop. 1,020), the northern-most community in the North Thompson Valley. Found nestled between the Cariboo, Monashee and the Rocky mountain ranges, Valemount is home to the Canadian Rockies’ tallest peak of Mount Robson, near the mouth of the Fraser River’s headwaters, and a doorway to never-ending wilderness possibilities.

You can feel the mountains pulling you in as you travel the Yellowhead Highway north to Valemount. Valemount may be the last town before the Alberta border, but you’ll want to do more than just fuel-up here. Spend the day, or make plans for an extended stay to hike, raft, cross-country ski, or snowmobile our mountain wilderness.
